Brushing Teeth

Did you know...

That pets require the same dental care as humans?

Sometimes our pets suffer in silence due to the fact that we are innocently unaware a dental problem.

A notable point made by veterinarians when an issue is found during routine exams is that owners often do not realize that their pets have a dental problem because they are still eating.

We have to remember that unlike humans, pets live on instinct and will continue to eat even when it hurts!

Some common dental problems seen in veterinary medicine include...

  • fractured teeth from chewing on bones or rocks
  • halitosis (bad breath)
  • periodontal disease
  • plaque and tarter
  • retained baby teeth

These, and other dental problems left unattended lead to more serious health issues.

Preventive care is something we can help you incorporate into your pets daily routine in order to keep their mouths healthier for longer periods, thus requiring fewer dental cleanings in their lifetimes.

February is National Veterinary Dental Month
